Children & Family Faith Formation
St. Peter’s Faith Formation works to educate our whole community—adult, youth, child—so that learning and sharing of faith crosses generations and continues for a lifetime. Generations of Faith – 2019-20
What: Lifelong faith enrichment for members and friends of the St. Peter’s ages 5 to 105. Generations of Faith is not a classroom teaching but rather experiential learning much similar to vacation bible school or mission trip learning. The emphasis is mentoring for mission rather than knowledge. Generations of Faith includes each of the 6 goals of catechesis:
- Promote knowledge of the faith
- Provide knowledge of Liturgy through experience
- Promote moral formation in Christ
- To teach people how to pray in Christ
- Prepare people for life in community and mission of the Church
- Promote a missionary Spirit
When: Generations of Faith for 2019-2020 will consist of 7 Wednesday sessions offered twice, once at 4pm and again at 6:30pm. The sessions are 1.5 hours on Sept 11, (6:30pm only) Oct. 9; Nov. 13; Dec. 11; Jan. 8; Feb. 12; and March 18.
Where: Generations of Faith will make use of the St. Peter’s Msgr Brand Social Hall, Worship Space, and Chapel.
How Much: The cost of the program is a free will offering that help defray the costs of snacks, materials stipends for guest speakers.
Registration: Registration helps plan for snacks, seating and materials. Participants are to register their family and friends for each session they plan to attend. Registration is online at the St. Peter’s website and on clipboards in the St. Peter’s narthex.
Early Catholic Family Life (ECFL)
ECFL or Early Catholic Family Life emphasizes the importance of putting faith at the center of family. If you have children ages 5 and under please consider registering for our upcoming ECFL classes at St. Peter’s. Contact Joanne for more information.
