First Reconciliation & First Communion

All of our parish children and their parents (whether affiliated with public or parochial school) are invited to participate in the parish preparation and celebration of these sacraments. All those participating must be registered members of St. Peter’s Parish. They must also be involved in an on-going faith formation program either through the parish or the school and have completed at least one year before beginning sacrament preparation. This program is usually for children in the second grade, but children older than second grade, who have not yet received these sacraments, are encouraged to do so.

  • First Reconciliation preparation begins in the fall, with the celebration of the sacrament taking place that winter. Children must be baptized in order to receive this sacrament.
  • First Communion preparation is during winter and spring with the celebration of the sacrament taking place in the spring. Children must be baptized and have received the Sacrament of Reconciliation in order to receive this sacrament.

Registered families will receive a detailed schedule in the fall.
