Outreach to the Homebound
Outreach to the Homebound is a gift we are
able to give to one another.
We are in need of Communion Ministers to the
homebound and of visitors to our
parishioners in healthcare centers, nursing
homes, and assisted living facilities. Think
of the many people who are waiting for your
smile or your kind word.
If you wish to bring joy to others by
joining in this service, please contact
Sister Rita at 612-866-5089.
Anyone wishing to bring a youth group or
scout group to visit or entertain may
contact the healthcare center directly. |

Father Jerry, please tell us about your family...
I was born in 1953 and raised in northeast Minneapolis. I
am of Polish descent, along with Czech and German. I
attended school at St. Cyril and Nazareth Hall and then
graduated from DeLaSalle High School in 1971. I earned a
degree in History with an emphasis in Philosophy, Theology
and Science at the University of St. Thomas. I attended the
St. Paul Seminary and was ordained on June 2, 1979. I have
two brothers—one living in Roseville and the other in
Ramsey. My younger brother is married and has five
children. My parents are both deceased. My mother passed
away in 2008 and that is when I inherited her dog, Rusty.

Giving Goes Green
Churches, with their heavy check volumes, were among the
earliest organizations to embrace electronic giving as a way
to automate contributions. Today, electronic giving in all
its forms provides convenience for frequent check writers
and donation consistency for churches. A less frequently
discussed benefit of electronic giving is its positive
impact on the environment. An enormous amount of natural
resources are consumed in the production, transportation,
processing and disposal of paper checks. Since the year
2000, the powerful trend toward electronic payments has
already produced more than a 50 percent decline in check
use. If you are interested in setting up automatic
withdrawal of your donations to St. Peter’s Church, please
contact Patti DeMay at 612-767-1782, or print the
Auto Withdrawal form
and submit it to the parish office or via the collection
basket. |
